On October 27th, 2020 at 08:37 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched by MetCom with automatic aid from Aurora Fire Rescue to an unconfirmed residential structure fire in the 3700 block of S Lisbon Way in unincorporated Arapahoe County. Two callers advised that the side of the house was on fire and Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office arrived confirming that the C side of the building was on fire prompting MetCom to upgrade the response to a confirmed residential structure fire. Reports on scene indicated that all parties were out with one party injured prompting Battalion 5 to request another medic to respond. Battalion 5 arrived to a small two story house with a working fire, established command, and instructed Engine 23 work on making a transitional attack from the C side. Aurora Engine 10 arrived and established a water supply to Engine 23. Engine 23 advised that there was interior involvement from the A side door and changed tactics to attack the fire from the A side doorway as Aurora Engine 10 stretched 2.5″ line to the C side for exterior attack. Engine 22 arrived on scene on E. Lehigh Ave. and setup their deck gun to attack the fire from the C side. Engine 23 reported heavy fire conditions on the main floor interior with water on the fire and knocking most of it down. Command ordered the withdraw of interior crews due to exterior operations on the C side. After withdrawing, Engine 23 reported heavy fire on the D side of the structure, started a transitional attack on that side, and saw active fire in the basement from that side. Aurora Battalion 3 was assigned as Safety and advised that there was still active fire in the basement, first floor, second floor, and attic. The update prompted Command have Tower 35 setup their aerial on the C side to their master stream to assist with fire attack on the upper levels of the C side and switched to defensive operations. Another truck and engine company was requested due to the continued fire visible from the C side. Medic 211 standing by on deck used a preconnect to protect the B and D exposures. Battalion 3 assumed C Division due to the number of units operating on the C side as they worked to extinguish visible fire. C Division noted that the B exposure was impinged on pretty heavily and Medic 21 was sent to investigate the B exposure for any extension. Two additional medics were then requested to the scene. Logs 3 arrived on scene and assisted with putting down ice melt at the front of the structure and rehab for crews. Tower 32 setup their aerial master stream on the A side to assist with the fire in the attic. The fire was placed under control after more than 60 minutes into the incident. The two neighboring homes suffered heat damage and two citizens were transported to the hospital from the scene by Medic 42.
