Coal Creek Canyon Fire Protection District (CCCFPD), covering 224 square miles in Boulder, Jefferson & Gilpin Counties (Colorado) including the areas of Arvada, Asel Open Space Park, Axton Ranch, Black Gulch, Blue Mountain Estates, Boulder Mountain Park, Brookeridge, Brumm Trail, Burland Ranch Acres, Camp Eden, Camp Granite Lake, Carey Rock, Clay, Coal Creek, Coal Creek Heights, Coal Creek Peak, Cooperdale, Crescent, Crescent Mountain, Crescent Village, Fire Clay, Eldorado State Park, Golden Gate State Park-North, Gross Dam, Gross Reservoir, Hilltop, Miramonte, Nadm Acres, Plainview, Ralston Creek, Rocky, South Boulder Creek, Roosevelt National Forest, Sawmill Gulch, Scar Top Mountain, Standing Pines, Spruce Canyon, Twin Spruce, Walker Ranch, Westridge and Wondervu. Coal Creek Canyon Fire Protection District originally started out as the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association (CCCIA) Firefighters in 1946. The Coal Creek Canyon Fire Department was formed in 1956. A 1931 American LaFrance engine was purchased in March of 1959 from the Boulder Fire Department for $1,500. In May of 1959 the Coal Creek Canyon Volunteer Fire Department was incorporated and later as the Coal Creek Canyon Fire Protection District.

Coal Creek Canyon Fire Protection District has auto-aid agreement / or mutual-aid with Arvada Fire Protection District, Golden Gate Fire Protection DistrictGolden Fire Department, Mountain View Fire Rescue & Pleasant View Fire Department.
