On October 21st, 2020 around 18:00 Pueblo West Fire Department was dispatched to mile marker 311 on Hwy. 50 for a brush fire. The fire was reported as small in size and was burning on the north side of the highway. Pueblo County Sheriffs deputies started arriving in the area and reported the fire was burning north of the highway and fire crews would not be able to access it from the highway due to the construction barriers in place. Units made access to the fire from Holiday Dr. and were able to contain the fire quickly. Before arriving on scene Brush 863 returned to Station 3 to swap trucks to respond to a motor vehicle crash on the interstate near mile marker 107. A few minutes later Station 1 responded to a medical call on the south side. The three calls were less than an hour apart and thankfully the fire was small and didn’t require both stations crews to remain on scene. Additional information provided by Code 4 Photography

Units on Scene: Chief 803, Brush 862, Brush 863 (Cancelled enroute) & Pueblo West 83
