Colorado Springs Electrical Fire
At approximately 13:40 on April 27th, 2021 Colorado Springs Public Safety Communications Center dispatched Colorado Springs Fire Department to the 100 block of N. Nevada Ave. for a possible structure fire. The RP advised there was a fire inside the walls of the building and smoke was coming from the interior wall. Engine 1 arrived on scene and advised nothing was showing and that they were going to investigate. Engine 1 advised they did have smoke interior, established command, and requested Truck 1 to assist with investigation. Engine 1 then requested a dry 1 3/4 line to the front door. Engine 1 then transferred command to Battalion 1 and then requested a working fire assignment. Engine 1 then began fire attack. Truck 1 then advised smoke was coming from the rooftop HVAC system and was then assigned to evacuate the residential property to the left of the business. Engine 23 was then assigned to pull a backup line off of Engine 1 and the other half was assigned on deck. Truck 8 was assigned RIT until Rescue 17 arrived and assumed RIT from them. HazMat 14 arrived and assumed the role of Safety and Accountability. Truck 8 was then assigned to interior division. Units were able to determine the source of the smoke and soon cleared scene.
