At 20:01 on July 20th, 2021 South Metro Fire Rescue received 911 reports of bushes on fire in the front yard of a home in the 6700 block of S. Downing Circle West in Centennial. Dispatchers received additional information that the home was starting to burn, and a structure fire response was sent. A passing motorist on Arapahoe Road saw the smoke, parked his vehicle out of the way and alerted the occupant of the home. That person wasn’t aware of the growing fire outside and thankfully, they escaped without injury. This dash cam video captured by Battalion 2 shows the large volume that appeared to be engulfing the front of the home. Once the flames were extinguished, Firefighters searched all areas of the structure and confirmed that fire only damaged the exterior and did not extend inside. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
