Colorado Springs Structure Fire

At approximately 09:30 on June 11th, 2021 Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to the 4600 block of Ramblewood Dr. for a possible structure fire. En route, dispatch advised there was a fire in the basement and they were receiving multiple calls for a column of black smoke. Engine 15 arrived to smoke showing from the structure and upgraded the incident to a working fire. Battalion 4 arrived on scene and assumed command from Engine 15, and moved into transitional attack. During attack Engine 15 due to the unknown location of fire in the basement, command advised all companies to remain exterior until the fire’s location could be determined. Once determined, Engine 20 made entry with an 1 3/4 attack line and Engine 15 remained exterior due to fire spreading to the Charlie and Delta sides of the home. Heavy Rescue 17 arrived and assumed RIC, while Truck 19 was assigned ventilation and HazMat 14 assumed Safety and Accountability. At 09:48, Engine 20 was able to get a knock on the fire. At 09:59 both Primary and secondary searches were clear. Crews were slowly returning to service and the scene was handed over to the fire investigator. Brush 7 was then called to the scene for Fire Watch.
