On November 22nd, 2021 Marc Olson was honored with a memorial procession from Fort Collins to Fort Morgan. Olson passed away when his plane crashed on November 16th, 2021 during the Kruger Rock Fire by Estes Park. Olson was 59 years-old, and a 32-year veteran pilot since 1979, flying helicopters in the U.S. Army for four years and 10 years in the U.S. Air Force, serving on the active duty flying A-10 aircraft before joining the Air National Guard. Olson joined the CO Fire Aviation in 2017. Olson logged more then 8,000 total flight hours and 1,000 hours of night flight.
