Westminster Fire Department held a dedication ceremony at Station 3 on July 27th, 2021 to put their new Engine 3 into service. Opening remarks were given by station Captain Pendleton. Captain Tice, the chaplain for the department, gave a short speech and then the engine was then blessed, that it would serve the citizens of the City of Westminster reliably. The new Engine 3 was then wet down using water from the old Engine 3 and wiped down. The new engine was pushed back into the fire station, a tradition that dates to the time when horses were used to pulled engines but were not able to push them. Cake was served to those who attended. Engine 3 and Medic 3 are the first station matching pair in the city’s new color scheme. The new Engine 3 is a 2021 Pierce Velocity (35452) with 500 gallon water tank, 1500 gpm pump with foam.
