Colorado Springs Structure Fire

At approximately 10:25 on January 19th, 2022 Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to the 100 block of W. Rockrimmon Drive for a possible structure fire. Once en route, dispatch advised to all units the reporting party stated they saw smoke and flames coming from the building. Once on scene, Engine 3 advised nothing showing and Engine 3 would investigate. During investigation mode, Engine 3 found light smoke in one of the apartments and continued to investigate. Engine 12 then began to investigate the 2nd floor for signs of fire. Engine 3 them established command and Truck 9 was sent to investigate the 3rd floor. Engine 3 found working fire on the first floor from a dryer vent and began to pull ceiling, searching for the main body of fire. Truck 19 then established RIC and Engine 12 established a water supply. Battalion assumed command from Engine 3; Engine 3 then pulled an attack line and Engine 12 was sent interior with a backup line. At 10:50 Engine 12 was transitioned to an attack line and was requested to the 2nd floor. HazMat 14 was assigned Safety and Accountability  and Rescue 17 assumed RIC. At 11:00 the fire was called under control and smoke was beginning to dissipate. Units then began to be released, Air 15 was then dispatched for bottle refill. Command was then terminated and Brush 22 was dispatched for Fire Watch. The fire is currently during investigation by the Colorado Springs Fire Department, Division of the Fire Marshal.
