On April 21st, 2022 around 11:00 Pueblo West Fire Department was dispatched to the 100 block of Poppy Lane on a reported residential structure fire. The caller reported a stove fire that they attempted to extinguish but may have been spreading. Chief 804 arrived and sized up a single story single family residence with nothing showing and had 831 come into the cul-de-sac for hydrant access and had them investigate. Once inside firefighters found the house full of smoke and a smoldering fire on the stove. Crews removed the appliance and extinguished the leftover smoldering fire. A fan was used for ventilation and firefighters along with AMR treated a resident for smoke inhalation.
