Poudre Appliance Fire

At 14:55 on December 30th, 2023 Poudre Fire Authority responded to a reported structure fire in the 3700 block of Post Rd. in Fort Collins. Upon arriving on scene, crews quickly performed a 360 degree sweep of the property, noticed large quantities of smoke emanating from the basement, entered the home and extinguished the blaze in seconds. The fire did not extend beyond the source of ignition, which was a faulty appliance. Crews removed the appliance from the home and, after using thermal imaging technology, noticed substantial residual heat remained in the device. They quickly applied more water to the machine to prevent it from reigniting. No one was injured in the fire. Additional information provided by Poudre Fire Authority
