Poudre Building Roof Fire

On January 14th, 2023 at 18:49 Poudre Fire Authority responded to reports of smoke at the Kmart building, 2535 S. College Ave. in Fort Collins. Engine 3 arrived on scene to a vacant commercial building with light smoke showing from the roof and pulled a line in on the Charlie side for fire attack. Engine 4 secured the water supply to Engine 3, Battalion 2 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy with a working fire from the roof and assigned Rescue 4 with the primary search. Tower 1 arrived and laddered the roof and Ladder 5 pulled a line to the roof. The fire was put under control at 19:18 and crews remained on scene for overhaul. No injuries were reported and the cause of fire is under investigation. Additional information provided by Poudre Fire Authority
