North Metro Defensive Fire

On July 30th, 2023 at 00:08 North Metro Fire Rescue District & Westminster Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 11800 block of W. 107th Ave. in unincorporated Jefferson County. Engine 5 arrived on scene to a small single-story single-family residential with a working fire from the Charlie and Delta sides and fire through the roof. Engine 5 pulled 1 3/4 for fire control in the offensive strategy. Engine 61 started the primary search and Engine 65 established the water supply to Engine 5. Engine 3 and Medic 3 assigned to assist with fire control and pulled a 2nd line in. Battalion 61 arrived and took command with heavy fire and requested a 2nd Alarm and a major incident tone with defensive operations due partially collapsed of the roof with solar panels and weakened floor structure. Truck 2 arrived and assigned to secured another water supply on Tabor Court. The fire was put under control at 01:11 and crews started an extended overhaul. The single occupant of the home had evacuated with no injuries but was transported by Medic 4 out of precaution. One dog was rescued from the home, but one cat remains unaccounted for. There was significant damage to the home as a result of the fire. No injuries occurred. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
