West Park Debris Fire

On April 11th, 2023  just before 14:45 West Park Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 451 Midnight Ave. on a reported structure fire. Original reports were conflicted between a barn on fire or a fire spreading towards a barn. Once on scene,  Engine 531 found a pile of debris and scraps burning in the southwest corner of the yard. A previous controlled burn at a neighboring property had reignited and spread to a fence and into the pile. No structures were actively burning and nothing else was threatened. Engine 531 made access through the neighbors yard to the north and pulled a cross lay for fire attack. Crews quickly knocked the fire after the home owner had began extinguishing it with a garden hose. One party was checked by crews for any medical concerns after the heightened tensions during the incident. Additional information provided by Code 4 Photography
