At 09:55 on July 2nd, 2024 Colorado Springs Public Safety Communications Center dispatched the Colorado Springs Fire Department to the 3300 block of Clubheights Drive in southwest Colorado Springs for a possible structure fire. Dispatch advised they were receiving multiple reports of smoke coming from the residence. American Medical Response Medic 4 was the first arriving unit, advising smoke was showing from the residence. Engine 4 arrived shortly after and confirmed the incident to be working. Engine 16 established a water supply, while Engine 4 stretched an attack line to the alpha side. Truck 4 Irons conducted a primary search on the building, Truck 1 confirmed all occupants had been evacuated with the residents. Engine 4 followed the smoke into the basement and reported hoarder conditions while searching for fire. After a water supply had been established, Engine 16 then pulled a backup line off of Engine 4, and Battalion Chief 1 assumed Clubheights Command. Truck 1 Ladders ventilated the basement by removing window well coverings from the exterior, Truck 4 Ladder controlled utilities, and Truck 1 Irons setup interim R.I.C. Truck 8 arrived and joined Engine 4 to conduct overhaul; and Engine 6 established Safety and Accountability. Fire crews began to rotate out for bottle swap and Engine 4 called the fire under control at 10:30. Engine 6 then reported smoke and heat coming from the attic at the Charlie-Delta corner, Truck 4 Ladders was then sent to investigate, and all ventilation was paused. Truck 4 Ladders was able to confirm smoke in the attack was residual and that there were hoarder conditions in the attic as well. X-Ray 193 and X-Ray 194 proceeded down to the basement to conduct their investigation, while fire companies began to cycle through rehab with Squad 21. No injuries were reported, and the fire is under investigation by the Colorado Springs Fire Department, Division of the Fire Marshal.
