On January 9th, 2024 around 15:00 Grand Junction Regional Communication Center dispatched De Beque Fire Protection District of a structure fire in the 275 block of County Rd. 222 near the High Lonesome Ranch. Engine 81 arrived to a single-story commercial metal shop building fully involved and started fire attack. Chief 81 arrived and assumed command. Crews worked heavy fire conditions before the fire was put under control. The fire was contained to the shop building and no reported injuries. The fire cause is under investigation.
