Poudre Attic Fire

At 02:11 on December 17th, 2024 Poudre Fire Authority and UCHealth EMS responded to the 6400 block of E. Hwy. 14 on a reported structure fire. Firefighters could see heavy smoke as they approached. They located a fire in the attic. The fire had extended through the attic, across the structure of the main house to the space above the attached garage. Firefighters made access and attacked the flames from above and below. A fire investigator was dispatched and an investigation is in progress. There were reportedly two cats in the home as well which were unaccounted for at the time of this update. Crews continue work after extinguishing a second alarm fire in a one-story home in the 6400 block of E. Highway 14. Two adults and one child were home at the time. Smoke alarms alerted the family which allowed everyone to safely exit before firefighters arrived. Additional information provided by Poudre Fire Authority
