Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony

The annual Colorado Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony was held on May 3rd, 2024 at the Colorado State Patrol Academy at Camp George West in Golden. The Colorado Emerald Society Pipe Band started the ceremony off and the Colorado Honor Guard Society with the ceremony protocol. The invocation was provided by Pastor Dave Guy, Chaplain of the Cortez Police Department. Posting of the Colors by the Colorado Department of Corrections Honor Guard and the National Anthem by Case Manager Supervisor Clinton Carr of the Colorado Department of Corrections. The Presentation of the Wreaths were by Chief Mark A. Cristiana of the Fountain Police Department, Executive Director Andre Stancil of the Colorado Department of Corrections and Chief Vernon Knuckles of the Cortez Police Department. The Presentation of the State of Colorado Wreath and Proclamation was by Lt. Col. Joshua Downing of the Colorado State Patrol and the Colorado Flag Presentation was provided by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard. City and County of Denver Mayor Mike Johnston gave the Memorial Address with the Benediction by Chaplain Brad Herman of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Amazing Grace was by the Colorado Emerald Society Pipe Band with the Rifle Salute by the Colorado Springs Police Department. The Echo Taps was provided by Sergeant Aaron Murphy of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office and Detective Joshua Harvey of the Denver Police Department. 359 names are on the memorial as of May of 2024.
