Littleton C-470 Vehicle Fire Investigation
West Metro Vehicle Fire Investigation
At 15:51 on December 7th, 2024, Jeffcom dispatched West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 13 to a possible vehicle on fire at the W. Bowles Ave. offramp of east bound C-470. Crews arrived to find a single-vehicle stalled with transmission fluid leaking on the roadway and no working fire visible. Two Jeffco Sheriff officers secured the scene. Absorbent was used to contain the fluid spill. A thermal imager was used to determine that no fire was present and that the vehicle was safe to remove from the scene. It is believed that a transmission fluid line broke and sprayed fluid onto the vehicle engine, which created a smoky condition. The scene was closed at 16:14, as no further safety issues were present. Additional information was provided by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and West Metro Fire Rescue
