Poudre Dirt Bike Fire

On January 1st, 2024 at 20:41 Poudre Fire Authority responded to reports of an e-bike on fire in the 200 block of Tralee Ct. in Huntington Hills. The occupant of the home heard a popping noise coming from the garage where his dirt bike was charging. He cracked the door to the garage to find flames up to the ceiling and all occupants immediately evacuated the home. Engine 5 and Ladder 5 arrived on scene to find the dirt bike on fire in the driveway where it had been dragged. After extinguishing the fire, crews remained on scene to check for fire extension into the garage and home and to monitor for reigniting of the lithium-ion battery. No injuries were reported. After the battery returned to a safe temperature and the home was ventilated, Crews cleared the scene at 21:37. Additional information provided by Poudre Fire Authority
