Colorado Springs Brush Fire

At approximately 15:10 on January 12th, 2020 Colorado Springs Public Safety Communications Center dispatched Colorado Springs Fire Department to the area of the 1300 block of Ethereal Circle near Oswego St. for a brush fire. Before Engine 5 was able to leave quarters, Brush 5 had to be canceled due to a mechanical issue. Once Engine 5 arrived on scene they reported a working fire and requested a working brush fire assignment. Engine 5 began to deploy a hose lay to create a perimeter, once Brush 3 arrive they deployed a second hose lay to extend Engine 5’s hose lay. Brush 3 was also assigned to provide structure protection and the cold flank and Engine 5 was assigned to the hot flank. Engine 9 was assigned to assist Engine 5 in attacking and mopping the hot flank. Wildland 9 was assigned to assist Brush 3 in stomping out the fire. A member from Wildland 9 was then assigned to takeover look out from Brush 3 officer. Battalion 1 then requested the on duty fire marshal to have an investigator respond. 15:52 companies reported wet and foam lines completely around the fire. At 16:25 companies began to be released. The fire is currently under investigation.

Working Fire Assignment: Engine 9 & Wildland 9

Special Call: Battalion 1 & PIO/EMS Liaison 73 (Canceled)
