On October 11th, 2026 just after 13:30 Pueblo West Fire Department was dispatched to the 300 block of E. George Drive for a reported residential structure fire. A 911 caller reported the home was on fire and flames are everywhere. Engine 831 arrived to find a single-family residence with light smoke showing and pulled an 1 3/4″ pre-connect cross-lay for fire attack. A mostly extinguished fire was found on the back deck and rear of the home. Crews quickly knocked down what was left and began overhaul and checking for extension. Engine 832 arrived and assisted the crew from 831. Utilities were secured. Paramedics from AMR and Pueblo West Fire assessed a resident for smoke exposure. Firefighters brought the incident under control in a short time and extension was limited. The ducklings and chickens in the back yard were unharmed as was the pet snake.
