Fire Academy Training Evergreen/Foothills/Genesee Academy held their training session at Station 2. on October 11th, 2025. The recruits were trained on several aspects, such as setting up and the use of exhaust fans, rotary saw use and more. The joint fire academy is Evergreen Fire Protection District, Foothills Fire Protection District and Genesee Fire Protection District.
Limon Live Fire Training The Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (Colorado Department of Public Safety-DFPC) held a live fire training on October 11th, 2025 hosted by Limon Area Fire Protection District and Hugo Volunteer Fire Department. This type of training allowed crews to receive training and some fire fighting experience, while in a controlled environment.
