The funeral service for Northglenn Police Department Detective Paul Gesi was held on August 19th, 2025 at the Brave Church, 3800 E. Hampden Ave. in Englewood and was open to the public. A procession followed to Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge for his burial. Gesi died by suicide in early August of 2025 after a battle with severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He was a 41-year veteran of law enforcement, with 39 years spent with the Northglenn Police Department, where he served as a homicide detective and lead negotiator for SWAT. His death brought attention to the mental health challenges faced by first responders. He will be remembered as a strong, courageous, and kind leader and servant. He was a follower of Jesus Christ, and stood firm in his faith. He is survived by; daughter Amanda and her husband Rico and their son Desmond; daughter Emily and her husband Kyler; daughter Madeline and her husband Mark and their daughter Cecilia; sons Robert and Johnathan, and daughter Olivia. He was predeceased by his parents Antonio and Margaret Gesi, and youngest sister Cecilia. Additional information provided by Dignity Memorial and the Northglenn Police Department
