On September 13, 2025 Wiggins Rural Fire Protection District opened its doors to the community in celebration to 50 years of service. Wiggins Fire Chief Dave Hinson welcomed the community with food, cake, and a brand new Rosenbauer Engine. The new Rosenbauer Commander Engine replaces the department’s 2002 Kenworth Engine in Goodrich, updating the department’s aging fleet. Assistant Chief John Pachek introduced the department’s Board of Directors, representing years of service to the community. Director John Kopetzky provided a rundown of the department’s history from the beginning to current day. The firefighters then joined together to push in the new apparatus, welcoming it to service as the department’s third Rosenbauer apparatus. The community celebrated with cake after the push-in.
