Gunnison County Fire Protection District

Gunnison Fire Protection District (GFPD) was founded in 1980 covering 3,300 square miles in Gunnison & Saguache Counties (Colorado) including the areas of Almont State Wildlife Area, Antelope Creek, Blinberry Gulch, Crystal Creek, East River, Eleven, Fisher Gulch, Gunnison River, Gunnison State Wildlife Area, Jack’s Cabin Cutoff, Jorgensen, Leaps Gulch, Lost Canyon Gulch, Mountaineer Bowl, Ohio Creek, Roaring Judy, Signal Peak, Spring Creek, Tenderfoot, Tenderfoot Mountain, Tomichi Creek, Taylor Canyon, Wilder & Wilder on the Taylor. Gunnison County Fire Protection District is also known as the Gunnison Volunteer Fire Department and Gunnison Fire Rescue, all areas of the fire district are serviced by the same personnel and units. Gunnison County Fire Protection District has assumed responsibility for the Almont Fire Department service area.

Gunnison County Fire Protection District is dispatched by Gunnison Regional Communications Center.
