Gunnison Fire Protection District (GFPD). founded in 1980 covering 3,300 square miles in Gunnison & Saguache Counties (Colorado) including the areas of Almont, Almont State Wildlife Area, Antelope Creek, Blinberry Gulch, Bluebird Gulch, Cabin Creek, Cactus Hill, Castleton Ranch, Cochetopa Canyon, Corbitt Ditch, Cranor Hill, Crystal Creek, Devils Hole Gulch, East River, East Willow Creek, Eleven, Eleven’s Taylor River Lodge, Fisher Gulch, Gold Creek, Gunnison National Forest, Gunnison River, Gunnison Valley, Gunnison State Wildlife Area, Houston Gulch, Indian Head Rock, Jack’s Cabin Cutoff, Jorgensen Park, Last Chance Gulch, Leaps Gulch, Left Fork Flick Gulch, Lost Canyon Gulch, Lost Miner Ranch, Mountaineer Bowl, Ohio City, Ohio Creek, Ohio Creek Valley, Parlin, Pitkin, Quartz Creek, Ranch House, Rarick Gulch, Roaring Judy, Sargents, Shady Island River Park, Signal Peak, Spring Creek, Spring Creek Reservoir, Spring Gulch, Taylor Canyon, Taylor River, Tenderfoot, Tenderfoot Mountain, Tepee Gulch, Tomichi Creek, Tomichi Creek State Wildlife Area, Tomichi Village, Trampe Ranch, Van Tuyl State Wildlife Area, Wilder & Wilder on the Taylor. Gunnison County Fire Protection District is also known as the Gunnison Volunteer Fire Department and Gunnison Fire Rescue, all areas of the fire district are serviced by the same personnel and units. Gunnison County Fire Protection District has assumed responsibility for the Almont Fire Department service area.

Ohio City Volunteer Fire Department, Sargents Volunteer Fire Department and Taylor Canyon Volunteer Fire Department are part of the Gunnison County Fire Protection District.
