Durango Fire Department, located in La Plata County (Colorado).

Durango Fire Department goes back around 1881 as a volunteer department and ran as the Durango Hook & Ladder in 1893. The fire department became paid, the third in the state of Colorado. 

Durango Fire Department consolidated with the Animas Fire Protection District, Hermosa Cliff Fire Protection District and Mercy Ambulance to form Durango Fire Protection District in 2002.
