Rye Fire Protection District
Rye Fire Protection District (RFPD), covering 233 square miles in Pueblo & Huerfano Counties (Colorado) including the areas of Beckwith Reservoir, Ceurna Verde Park, Cold Spring Creek, Colorado City, Graneros Gorge, Greenhorn Valley, Greenhorn Creek, Hatchet Ranch, Huckleberry Hill & San Isabel National Forest. Rye Fire Protection District was founded in 1938 as the Rye Volunteer Fire Department, and in 2001 the department became Rye Fire Protection District.
Colorado City Fire Department joined the fire district at a unknown date.
Rye Fire Protection District is dispatched by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center.
