Meeker Fire Rescue

Meeker Fire & Rescue proudly protects the Rio Blanco Fire Protection District, covering 1940 square miles in Rio Blanco County (Colorado) including the areas of Anderson Gulch, Cherry Ranch, Curtis Creek, Fairfield Gulch, Fourmile Gulch, Green Cabins, Lion Canyon, Meeker Airport, Meeker Dome, Rim Rock, Ryan Gulch, Sage Hills, Sanderson Hills Park, Sulphur Creek & White River. Operations are conducted out of one station that protects a primarily rural area. The Department has full time Fire Chief / EMS Director and one office Administrator, all department members are volunteers.

Meeker Fire & Rescue (Rio Blanco Fire Protection District) established in 1933 as the Meeker Volunteer Fire Department. In March of 1997 the department became Meeker Volunteer Fire and Rescue with the merger of the Meeker Volunteer Fire Department and the Meeker Ambulance Service. The Rio Blanco Fire Protection District is now served by Meeker Fire & Rescue. The fire district is ISO 5.
