Rio Blanco County Sheriff Wildland Fire Team
The Rio Blanco County Sheriff Wildland Fire Team supports the Rio Blanco Fire Protection District, Meeker Fire Rescue, and Rangely Rural Fire Protection Districts in partnership with the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control who provides Federal Excess Property engines. The County Sheriff is responsible for wildfire protection on all non-federal lands in the County outside of Fire Protection Districts. In Rio Blanco County there are no non-federal lands outside of a Fire Protection District.
