Apple Valley Fire Protection District

Apple Valley Fire Protection District (AVFPD), formed in 1951 and covering 206 square miles in San Bernardino County (California) including the areas of Bear Valley, Cotners Corner, Desert Knolls, Granite Hills, Jess Lakse, Jess Ranch, Lone Wolf Colony, Lucca Loma, Mariana Ranchos, Rancho Del Oro, Rancho Verde, Solera, Stoddard Wells, Sunset Hills & Victor Valley.

Apple Valley Fire Protection District was formed in 1951 as the Apple Valley Fire Department and in 1962 became a fire protection district. By 1981, a joint powers authority was created with the local fire agencies including Victorville Fire Department to share the costs of modern dispatching of fire resources, and the JPA was known as the Regional Fire Protection Authority (RFPA).In 2009 when the City of Victorville contracted with San Bernardino County Fire Department, and the RFPA was put in abeyance. The Fire District contracted with San Bernardino County ‘Comm Center’ for communications.

Apple Valley Fire Protection District is dispatched by the Consolidated Fire Agencies (CONFIRE).
