The Fire Museum is the former Fire Station 3 (The Catherine Street Fire Station) located at 12 Catherine St. and was disbanded in 1933. This building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has also been designated an official landmark of the City of Jacksonville. The station was originally home to African-American company of firefighters, the building is also part of Florida’s Black Heritage Trail and is registered with the Northeast Florida African-American Historical Society. The station was converted into the museum in 1982, and moved in 1994 to its current home adjacent to Metropolitan Park.
