Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District

Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District (ALFPD), covering 22 square miles in McHenry & Kane Counties (Illinois) including the areas of Bunker Hill, Fox River, High Hill Park, Presidential Park, Snapper Field, Stonegate & Village of Algonquin.

Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was originally established in 1895 as the Algonquin Fire Brigade. In 1950 the Algonquin Fire Protection District was formed and in 1978 the name of the fire district was changed to the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District.
