Highland Park Fire Department
Highland Park Fire Department (HPFD), covering 12.5 square miles in Lake County (Illinois) including the areas of Braeside, Highwood, Lake Michigan & Ravinia.
Highland Park Fire Department was organized in 1889 as the Highland Park Volunteer Fire Department, and in 1924 the department became full-time pay. In 1978, a fourth fire station was built. In 1996, the department recognized that by combining Stations 31 & 33 to a centrally located station, and in 1998, the new Headquarters Fire Station 33 was built and old Station 31 and Station 33 were closed.
