South Elgin & Countryside Fire Protection District, covering 24 square miles in Kane & DuPage Counties (Illinois) including the areas of Bartlett, Campton Hills, Herons Woods State Habitat, Kenyon, Kenyon Farm Forest Preserve, Kenyon Woods, Pingree Grove , St. Charles, Thornwood & Youngsdale. 

South Elgin Fire Department was started in 1925. In 1953 the South Elgin & Countryside Fire Protection District was established.
