Brainerd Fire Department, organized in 1872 and covering 260 square miles in Crow Wing County including the areas of Bane Park, Barrows, Baxter, Brainerd, Brainerd Lakes, Buffalo Hills, Buffalo Lake, Central Lakes College, Crow Wing, Gregory Park, Jackson Field Airport, Lennox, Little Buffalo Creek, Long Lake, Lum Park, Mill Park, Mississippi River, Nokay Lake, North Central Speedway, Oak Lawn, Perch Lake, St. Mathias, Southdale, White Sand Lake & Woodland Hills.
