Saint James Fire Department (SJFD), located in Suffolk County including the areas of Cooperbeech, Gaynor Park, Mills Pond & Woodlawn.

Saint James Fire Department was organized in 1909 as the Eagle Hook & Ladder Company. In 1922 as the St. James Volunteer Fire Department. In 1935 the Saint James Fire District was formed. The ambulance corp. was organized in 1956.
