The Hudson Fire Protection District new in-house ambulance service is now up and running. Ambulance 901, based at Station 1 in Hudson, hit the streets on Monday, November 10th, 2025. The Department hired five paramedics and one EMT to staff the unit 24/7. The new unit was made possible thanks to the passage of a recent ballot initiative which will also allow the department to purchase a second ambulance and hire additional staff for Station 3 in Lochbuie. The second medic should be in service by February 2026. The Department was forced to look at other options after their contract with Platte Valley / Intermountain Health ended in August 2025. Ambulance 901 is a 2023 Ram 4500 4×4 that Hudson acquired from Arrow Ambulances.
