Colorado Springs Structure Fire

At 10:29 on February 20th, 2026 the Colorado Springs Public Safety Communications Center dispatched the Colorado Springs Fire Department to the 2600 block of Durango Drive in southeast Colorado Springs for a possible structure fire with partial collapse. On scene, Engine 11 reported smoke and flames showing with partial building collapse and upgraded the incident to a working fire. Due to the collapse and questionable structural integrity, fire crew setup defensive attack operations to contain the fire. Collapse Rescue 17 was requested to respond to stabilize the structure so the investigators can conduct their investigation. The fire was called under control at 14:26, all occupants safely evacuated the building, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined by the Colorado Springs Fire Department, Division of the Fire Marshal. Additional information provided by the Colorado Springs Fire Department.
