Platteville-Gilcrest Engine 802 Push-In
On June 16th, 2026 the Platteville-Gilcrest Fire Protection District welcomed a brand new engine to the fleet. This 2026 Rosenbauer Commander Rescue-Pumper moves the former Engine 802, a 2016 Rosenbauer Commander into reserve status, keeping the fleet reliable. The new engine features a Hale DSD 1500 GPM pump, 1000 gallon water tank and plenty of storage to allow this engine to double as a frontline Pumper and frontline Rescue. Fire Department leadership thanked the truck committee, District Board and the community for the purchase of the engine. Engine 802 was pushed into the bay, signifying it as “In-Service” at 16:15 with the rig truly entering service at 17:00 after some final pieces of equipment were moved over. After the ceremony, IKON Fire, the dealer who sold the apparatus, presented District Chief Dan Durkee with a gift as a thank you for the business and a promise to continue to build a relationship beyond the truck sale.
