Pueblo County Little Burnt Mill Road Brush Fire
Pueblo County Brush Fire
On February 1st, 2026 shortly before 15:00 Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center dispatched out Pueblo County Sheriff Emergency Services Division (ESD) to a brush fire in the 2300 block of Little Burnt Mill Rd. Original reports from the 911 callers reported a fast moving brush fire and the size was unknown. Smoke was visible from across the county and so mutual-aid was requested from Pueblo West Fire Department in the form of a type 6 brush truck to help contain the fire. An off duty firefighter in the area arrived on scene and sized up a 1 to 2 acre brush fire in light flashy fuels being pushed by light to moderate winds towards the west. The property owner was also trying to cut a fire line using a tractor. Crews began to arrive and anchored in at the origin of the fire and split the fire into into a left flank and right flank with Pueblo West District Chief 1 taking operations. Units were on scene several hours containing the fire and getting it completely mopped up. In total the fire burned just under 7 acres. The cause of the fire was accidental due to sparks from a construction saw. Information provided by Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office and Code 4 Photography
