On October 17th, 2026 South Adams County Fire Department held a Community Fire Safety Day & Open House at Station 28 in the Reunion area. The community came out to see the station and meet the crew. In addition to the ladder truck, brush truck, brush engine, and the new ambulance the fire safety trailer was there from the Colorado Department of Fire Prevention and Control. There were several fire safety demonstrations, which was very popular with the younger visitors, especially getting to put out an actual training prop fire, as well as information tables from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, City of Commerce and Colorado Department of Transportation. More info about the upcoming events go to the 5280Fire Calendar.
