Two Arvada House Fires

Around 04:30 of April 3rd, 2011 Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a reported residential structure fire with possible parties trapped in the 6500 block of Union St. in northwest Arvada. Truck 6 arrived on scene and found wind-driven heavy fire in one residence that had spread to the house next door and split crews for both fires. Firefighters spent several hours on scene extinguishing the fire and mopping up hot spots. Two firefighters suffered serious burns in the fire and were taken to a local hospital by Pridemark Paramedics for treatment. None of the occupants of either home were injured. The fire destroyed both houses. Investigators found the cause of the fire from left over charcoal aches in a propane grill. Information proved by Arvada Fire Protection District
