On March 20th, 2011 the Golden Fire Department was dispatched to a vegetation fire in Clear Creek Canyon just west of Highway 93. Crews arrived on scene and found fire half-way up the canyon in steep, rocky terrain. Additional resources from neighboring departments and a helicopter for water drops were called in to assist. The canyon was closed as firefighters worked through the night and into the next day (Indian Gulch Day 2) to extinguish the blaze.
