The event included a 5k/10k, 5k walk and the kids fun run, a EMS, fire and police muster with emergency vehicles on display, numerous activities including the EMS Volleyball Challenge Tournament. More info go to Friends of AirLife. Each year, Friends of Air Life hosts the event in honor of the everyday heroes in EMS and those who have lost their lives. The race was created in memory of Pete Albplanalp, Beth Barber, Leslie Feldmann and Julie Olmstead, who died on December 14th, 2007, in an Air Life helicopter crash and related car accident. Since its inception, the race has evolved to include honoring the fallen heroes of air medical, EMS, fire and police, as well as the beloved Friends of Air Life founder, Jim Ulrich, who lost his battle with leukemia in December of 2006.
