David Baldwin Memorial

Jefferson County Sheriff Sgt. David Baldwin (MC-1) memorial service was held on February 3rd, 2014 at the 1st Bank Broomfield Events Center, followed by a large procession. Baldwin was stuck on his motorcycle on January 26th, 2014 on Highway 93 at W. 64th Parkway. The accident happened when a driver tried to pass another vehicle in the no passing zone and crossed the double yellow line when he hit Baldwin’s motorcycle head-on. Baldwin was 50 years-old, a U.S. Air Force veteran and served with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for 27 years. He was survived by his wife Crystal, and their son Josh. The MC-1 Honor Run is held every year in his honor and the 8-mile Highway 93 was renamed Sgt. David M. Baldwin Memorial Highway in 2015.
