The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service conducted a controlled burn at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge on October 23rd, 2014. USFWS plans on burning over 2,000 acres to invigorate growth of native vegetation, reduce litter, manage weeds and improve habitat for wildlife. The burn will also help reduce the risk of wildfires.
