The 2016 Denver 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb was held at the 1801 California in downtown Denver on September 11th. 2016. Firefighters climbed the the stairs in the building twice, which adds to the 110 stories of the World Trade Center, some in full turnout gear, carrying a piece of equipment used for high-rise fires. The primary purpose of the Memorial Stair Climb, which began in 2005, is to remember the 343 New York City firefighters who lost their lives at the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001. The climb raises money for the Fallen Firefighters Foundation, and families of victims of 9/11.
