Federal Heights Apartment Fire

Just before 12:30 on May 1st, 2016 Federal Heights Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at The Lodge on W. 84th Ave.  Truck 41 arrived on scene and found heavy smoke and fire coming from one of the buildings in the center of the complex. Mutual Aid was requested from Adams County, Thornton and Westminster.  Firefighters worked for almost an hour attacking the blaze with two aerial ladders and several hand lines. Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours mopping hot spots and overhauling the scene. Approximately 14 units were damaged by fire, smoke, and/ or water.  No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.  The American Red Cross was called to assist displaced residents.
