At 11:53 on May 15th, 2016 Poudre Fire Authority responded to a train derailment in Timnath. Crews arrived to find a Great Western train derailed, carrying silica sand. At least nine cars traveled off the track, some coming to rest on their sides on a track near 5100 School House Dr. None of the approximately 100 cars on the train, including the nine that derailed, were carrying anything that was a haz-mat threat. There were no reported injuries. Additional information provided by Poudre Fire Authority
